Workout of the Day

I. Tabata Jumping Jacks:
8 Rounds of :20 on, :10 off. (Total of four minutes.)

Note: Doesn’t have to be light speed, but keep moving for the full :20 of work. Warm those calves & shoulders up! You can eyeball a stop watch, but there are also lots of free tabata timers out there for download.

II. Tabata Plank & Supermans
8 rounds, :20 on, :10 off

Alternate the :20 work periods between a front plank (either top of pushup position or on forearms) and superman holds (laying on your stomach, lift your head & arms and legs up off the ground and hold; feet together and point your toes).

(Coach Richard tip: Look up “Tabata Songs” on Spotify and have the virtual coach count you in and out over the song of your choice.)

Movements:

Push Up

50-40-30-20-10 reps for time of:
• Double-Unders
• Sit-ups

Movements:

Jump Rope (Double Unders) | Sit-up

For those who can make it, let’s meet in the park at the corner of 16th and Kennedy at 5pm. If you took a KB, DB or Med ball, bring it. (Feel free to pull up to the grass in your car, unload the equipment and go park in the tennis center).

We’ll come up with a workout and games may or may not include:

– 4-Way Tug of War
– Chuck ‘n Chase
– Janet’s Iron Lung
