Cross this bridge twice on your 5k run.

The gym will be closed this Sunday as the Dolges and Colby are out of town for a business seminar.  For those of you who need to be told what to do on a beautiful day with a park nearby, here is your assigned Workout of the Sunday:  Run a 5k.
5k is a solid benchmark run, meaning you should know what your best 5k time is.  For those who have never done it, 5k is 3.1 miles and is meant to be red-lined from beginning to end.  If this is your first 5k, this is a test of your stamina and endurance, but mostly of your ability to pace.  Can you maintain your top speed for anywhere from 20-35 minutes?
Your assignment is this:  communicate with each other however you see fit (text each other, comment on the Facebook post or comment here on the website), meet at the parking lot of the tennis center and jog down  the hill into the park, using that as a warm-up.
From there you are going to follow this route, which is pretty freakin simple.  Start at the intersection at the bottom of the hill, run down Beach Drive until the road closure at Broad Branch Ave, and turn around and run back.  It is slightly downhill on the way out and slightly uphill on the way back.  That is useful information in your pacing strategy.
People with running watches should wear them and help monitor times of those who don’t.
I expect photos and times on Monday.
By the way, we did this exact workout on April 20, 2013.
