The movement focus for May is going to be Back and Front Squats. We will not go through a whole cycle because that will take too long and I have something else I want to focus on in June, but we will get in extra squat work either as a strength element, or like today, as part of a larger met-con.
The squat is the foundation of good movement in CrossFit. Strong squats indicate good core control and are the most functional movements we do. It’s also a good indicator of how long we can maintain independence as we age. (So get your parents squatting!)
If Back or Front Squats are your strength goal for this year, this will be a good month for you. We’ll be mixing it up a bit.
